I have been watching and waiting for other people to respond to the information that Mike Dunton posted on his web pages regarding the trip to see who was interested in coming as Mike had sent me an Excel spreadsheet with quite a few names on it. I had hoped to be able to evaluate their responses and come up with a definite date from the three published by myself late March to suite the majority, however, seeing that the replies were virtually nil, I have had to make the decision myself.

The trip will commence with the arrival of interested parties on Wednesday 21st June and will begin in earnest on Thursday 22nd with the following itinerary providing subject to numbers etc. :-

Wednesday 21st June. Arrive England (Manchester International Airport preferred) and travel to hotel.

Thursday 22nd June. Visit Dutton (walk around site of original Hall) and Chester (walk around city walls, visit various places of interest, Cathedral, roman sites etc.) and visit Cheshire Records Office if time.

Depending on interests, we could visit Arley Hall, home of the Warburton family (originated from Geoffrey Dutton), Tatton Hall, home of the Egerton family (some Dutton married into their family) or Gawsworth Hall, home of the Fitton family (also with Dutton connections). Also we could visit Beeston Castle (ruins quite near to the hotel) or Peckforton Castle, used in the film Robin Hood, Prince of Theives (near to Beeston Catle).

Friday 23rd June. Visit Cheshire Records Office and or Chester Library (both have archival information on Cheshire).

Monday 26th June. Day in London seeing the sights by foot and shopping.

Tuesday 27th June. Morning in London and then drive back up to Cheshire for hotel, celebration Dinner.

Wednesday 28th June. Depart for those who need to.

At this moment in time, I have been able to loosely arrange accommodation with Pageant Hotels for the Cheshire and Cotswold areas. If you are intending to come over for the trip, you will need to make your own reservations with Pageant who will book you into the following hotels :-

The Wild Boar Hotel, Tarporley, Cheshire. 21-23rd June inclusive. Also the 27th June.

Manor House Hotel, Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire. 24th June The lady who knows about our little Trip is Alison Burling and she can be contacted on the following e-mail address - Pagadmin@btinternet.com just refer to "Dutton Researchers" and she will understand.

You will need to e-mail Alison asap and I would appreciate that you 'c.c.' me a copy of your e-mail so that I know who is coming as I will need to arrange transport. I will speak to Charles Sherborne Dutton on Wednesday when I am back at work to finalise a hotel in or near to London for the 25th and 26th June.
